Seven and a half years ago I embarked on a journey
that changed me in ways I failed to imagine.
Because imagination, for all it's beauty and richness, lacks the capacity to conjure
anything so deeply satisfying as the love of a mother for her children.

I look at you, two tender souls.
You give your trust, your forgiveness, your hearts without question.
Lately, at night, I've said a prayer.
A prayer that I will always be present for you when you need to be seen.
That I will listen quietly as you speak your truth.
And that when the road ahead gets rough, as it will, I will provide a soft place for you to fall.
How can I ever express how much you mean to me?
You have brought me the greatest joy I have known in this life.
