Short and sweet today. I haven't been feeling myself lately, so I'm leaving you with some pictures. I'm paying homage to the uncomplicated pleasures of childhood. I wish for all of us the gift of finding joy in the simplest of pursuits, and with the same grace and abandon as our children.
Yes, they own swimsuits, but they were all the way upstairs
There is something wonderful about the way children get lost in the details of their play...
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling more yourself very soon.
It's beautiful, isn't it? Thanks Nomie. xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you're ok.
ReplyDeleteCombination of migraine and divorce stress. Bleh...
ReplyDeleteoh lovely.... i loved this post... things i miss too.... and i hope that you get better soon
ReplyDeletexoxoxo
Ahhhh....the muddiness of mud, and magical cardboard boxes, and inflatable pools, and teeter-totters, and kites taking flight! What wonderful pictures! Thank you for the reminder of these delights!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better soon! *HUGS*!
Lovely. They are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd I send you some virtual hugs and some peace for your head and you heart. xx
Hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteYour babies are gorgeous. Childhood is such an amazing time.
You still haven't posted that poor child to his winner yet???
ReplyDelete@ Toni - these are old pictures, I'm feeling nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteRatz, Kelly, Lucy and Tiff - thanks for the wishes and the virtual hugs. xx
I hope you feel better soon too. That's a gorgeous reminder to let go and play!
ReplyDeleteHehe. never ind was I was going to say, i think Toni just said it all!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yay- catchpa free!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOOHHHHHHHHH NICE!
ReplyDeleteWhen does life start to get complicated again???
Love the last one! I need a big box. :)
ReplyDeleteMud, water, grass and no washing to do. Childhood rocks!
ReplyDeleteFeel better, hon. x
Simple posts are always theee best. What a wonderful reminder to enjoy the little things in life. Thanks sweetie. Hope you're feeling better :)
ReplyDeleteThat last picture sums encapsulates it nicely. Being content and snug in a cardboard box. Each Christmas our kids go wild for the new toys but the youngest still loves nothing better than climbing inside the cardboard boxes with his blanket and teddy and going to sleep. I wish I could join him.
ReplyDeleteI have a huge cardboard box that I was getting ready to throw out for recycling day - but that last picture reminded me how much my kids will enjoy playing with it today. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSome know-it-all once said 'this too shall pass'. The annoying thing about know-it-all's is that they sometimes know what they're talking about. Hope you're doing OK :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally want to buy a new fridge just so I can have a huge box for my kids. ;) We LOVED playing in those for hours as kids.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your fun pictures. It's a nice reminder of what's really important.
Hugs to you. Feel better soon.
Great "joys of childhood" photos! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling yourself again soon. *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, sleeping in a box. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel more like yourself soon.
Hi, I'm here from Writers Rising. Love your blog. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for these pictures. I sigh as I determine to go visit my inner kid.
ReplyDeleteHi Myrna, thank you, nice to see a new face!

And....the consensus is in. We all need to abandon our beds and sleep in a box now and then.
And nom nom, loving all the virtual hugs. xx
The sleeping in the box is hysterical.
ReplyDeleteThe last shot is a bewdie.
ReplyDeleteI miss playing dress-ups, doing 'shows' with my sisters for my parents, building cubby houses and, making a new friend each time I went somewhere different. Why do we get so un-fun as we get older?
ReplyDeleteHope you're ok. Try chocolate - it works for me. Cx
@ Cass - I loaded up on chocolate this morning. Again!
ReplyDeleteWhat I would give to return to the innocence of childhood...I hope you feel more like yourself soon. I've been slightly off myself recently.
ReplyDeleteLego.
ReplyDeleteLego is a must-have plaything for anyone over the age of three (and anyone inclined to putting small chokable objects in their mouths).
@ Ro - oh Legos will be the death of me! Tiny little Legos, millions of them, all over the floor, can you hear them clattering inside the vacuum cleaner?
ReplyDeleteM Drew - yes, I miss the peace of an uncomplicated life. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Waaaaah! I wanna be a kid again. Oh wait, I still am. hehehe.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bubbas, K.xx

@ Multiple Mom - I'll bring you lunch, but mind you it may be mac and cheese out of a box! (bleh)
ReplyDelete@ Park Life - I know, we all need those reminders, don't we?
That last photo in particular is gorgeous. Reminds me of many a time finding my little bro absolutely passed out from trying to make it through to the end of a busy played-out day! awwwww.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been feeling myself of late either (poor blog is suffering for it!), so join the club. Or... I'll join your club, cos you're way cooler ;P

ReplyDelete@ Mom Again & Deeps - thank you!
Wonderful photos! I love the boy sleeping in his box creation. My son used to do that. Pretend he was a dinosaur sleeping in his "nest".
ReplyDelete@ Cassiopeia - they have such beautiful imaginations, don't they? I love that.
ReplyDeleteAwwww... I miss being a kid too
