A gift

Some days the right person comes along at the right time
and reaches inside the churning maw of chaos and doubt
we have slipped within
opens a hand
we take hold
and choose to walk out

It's funny how a few well-placed words can offer clarity
and the world tilts
slides open
a sigh escapes our weary hearts
and we realize we've been holding our breath
for years

And quite suddenly we know the singular joy
of sitting deeply in the stillness of our own truth
our power
our plenary selves

  9. Ahh...very nice imagery! My husband has been providing that hand lately, giving me something to hold that won't go away. It's amazing how much difference it makes to just reach out.

  25. I'm not usually drawn to bloggy poetry. (requires too much brain power or some such), but this really spoke to me. It is beautiful Ms Wanderlust.
I rarely get that hand stretched out to pull me out of my chaos and dust though i long for it often. So when it comes (a handful of times in my life i think) it is deeply affecting.

MtoM, I'm not usually drawn to writing poetry, it's not really my strength, but sparse felt right.
