Meme whore

Last Saturday I took some time to get away and write and the kids' dad took them down to a neighboring town to ride an old 1920's era deisel train.  The kids thought they had died and gone to heaven.

They hopped aboard the train for the hour-long excursion.  Where were they headed?

It was purely for the sake of enjoyment.

Daniel was especially pleased, as he has designs on being a train engineer when he grows up.  Anna was happy just being along for the ride.

It was hot that day.  The heat index was over 100 degrees and the cars were not air conditioned.  But the kids found a way to beat the heat.

I'm glad he took his camera along so I could enjoy their day vicariously.  I loved seeing their broad smiles and hearing their excited stories when they returned.  Because when my kids are happy, i-Happy.

Oh, and what have I done this week?

Looked at homes for sale
Eaten my way through a bag of inferior chocolate
Mistook water-resistant sunscreen for waterproof, resulting in painful sunburns for my children, and
Almost caused a bru ha ha over on Frog Ponds Rock
(but Kim still loves me)

And those are my....

Sunday Snippets

And this?

This is just me.  In a shop window.

Just Me

So can I do this?  Or will the meme police come and get me?  And if so, are they good looking?

And Sarah are you still doing your meme?

Wow. That's some serious meme action.

I am, I've just been slack the past two weeks LOL!!

I wonder, can I do a Monday edition for this week?! LOL I suppose it's my meme I can do what I want hehe!

Almost caused a bru ha ha? I don't think so. All you did was say what you thought. I would be a sorry type of friend if I didn't listen to what you had to say. Also I often speak/write/act without really thinking about the consequences of those words or actions. :)

Nowhere is the best place to go on a Sunday.

That was nice of your ex/soon-to-be-ex to share his photos with you. The kids looked like they had a blast!

You look cute with your photo plastered all over the store's windows. Me? I'd SCARE the shoppers away!

Good luck house hunting!

Cool!

@ Draft Queen, speed meme.

@ Kim, well that's as close as I ever get to creating a bru ha ha, so I'm going to take credit. At least I scared up a little troll action for you. :-P

@ Sarah, go for it. You can make and break all the rules in your own meme world baby.

@ AV, most days I'd like to go Nowhere.

Lance said...

Trains are awesome. When I was 12 I wanted to be a hobo. Well, a hobo that played centerfield for the Yankees and sang lead for Van Halen.

Wanderlust said...

@ Pat, I'm not sure I'd sell anything. Maybe some anti-aging cream? It's an app on the EVO I've been playing with.

@ Eva, yeah!

Wanderlust said...

@ Lance, Daniel wants to be a train engineer and Anna wants to be a "pretzelologist" which is a person that digs up dinosaur bones. In case that wasn't clear.

Fab meme. You've been busy! Sad that the choc was inferior, but sometimes you've just gotta go with what you have.

Three things: 1. so lovely to see your daughter's smiling face out the train window (heaven for kids!)

and 2. You post and within an hour you have 10 comments. So impressive and a true reflection of your fabulous bloggy style (!)

and 3. You look great as a billboard.

Wanderlust said...

@ Maxabella, aw thanks! I heart you!

Lori @ RRSAHM said...

You do look great as a billboard. No PhotoShop Disasters for you, meme whore!! (And really, what's stopping you from adding in the iHappy button? Hmmm? Integrity, perhaps? No, wait, that couldn't be it...)

Wanderlust said...

@ Lori, the i-Happy button is there BABY. You must mean the one from We Play. Think I could get away with adding that? Does a train ride count as play?

Brenda said...

The 'Nowhere' shot is perfection. hehe.

Lori @ RRSAHM said...

'Scuse me, I'm having a dumb day. Yep, the We Play. I mean, you weren't there, but i think it still counts ;)

Wanderlust said...

@ Brenda, yes loved that sign. I want it for my office door.

litanyofbritt said...

Loving the i-happy connection. Sorry about the sunburns. That's the pits. I burned my kids last summer due to the Big Fat Lie that is sunblock spray. Sorry about the inferior chocolate too!

Veronica said...

I don't think the meme police have a foot to stand on Hehe.

Tenille said...

Danny's in luck! There's a railway museum right near my house! Nice to see you let him out of the box for a while too.

OK, that is the last '5-year-old-giveaway' joke I promise.

Wanderlust said...

@ Litany - YES, exactly! Applied that blasted spray 3 times and they burned like lobsters. As if I don't have enough mother guilt as it is.

@ Veronica - so the handsome police are not coming to take me away in handcuffs? Damn.

Wanderlust said...

@ Tenille - well since I'm so LAME about getting the box in the mail to you, I kind of had to. A little hot here to leave him sitting on the seat of my car for so many days in a row...

Jessica Anne said...

Excellent multi-tasking! I just had a run-in with water resistant sunscreen myself. Left a really nice white film in the pool. Fortunately, my kids are dark and didn't burn.

Steve said...

So, you in the shop window. Is that a "buy one get one free" offer? Are you available in the UK or do I have to order you on import? ;-)

Ratz said...

So Cool...

Being Me said...

WHY does inferior chocolate even make its way into our homes, let alone our bellies? If I have to, I've been known to even break out the cooking choc buttons.... I'm so ashamed.

Those meme police: what would the uniform look like, in your mind, considering you're asking if they're cute?

MomAgain@40 said...

The train to "Nowhere" is great! It looks like a blast!
Love the billboard shot :D

Marylin said...

I'm glad the kids had a blast, and that you got some time away. We're counting down the 5 sleeps till Zack and Max go up to their dad's. Zack is soooo looking forward to it, and so am I!
Thanks for taking part in Sunday Snippets. :) *hugs* x

Katie said...

Love the pics with the heads out the window. Seriously cute.

I think I had more to say but there are SUPER CUTE construction workers working on my building right now and I seem to have misplaced my thoughts...

Wanderlust said...

@ Jessica Ann, never buying again!

@ Steve, I'm only available for shipping to Australia right now. :-)

@ Ratz, thanks!

Wanderlust said...

@ Being Me, I know! What were we thinking??

@ Mom Again, don't you just want to hop on a train to Nowhere some days?

@ Marylin, wow, is it already time for them to go again? Glad you're less stressed this time!

@ Katie, stop ogling and focus on my comments dammit!

Marylin said...

Yep it is! I cannot WAIT! First time around I was sooo stressed, second time it was only for 3 days and I was ill the whole time, so third time's gotta be a charm, right? :)

Kristy said...

Love it! You are a meme whore. But there is nothing wrong with that. Inspiring really.

Wanderlust said...

@ Marylin, it will absolutely be a charm, I'm sure!

@ Kristy, thank you, I'm flattered.

Wanderlust said...

@ Being Me, I neglected to answer your important question about the meme police. I don't know. I'll have to give it a think and maybe do some creative photoshopping.

Ed Pilolla said...

fun! i love the sign to nowhere.
sounds like they had one of the those magical afternoons at a cool place. and that's cool you got to see it too.

Trevor said...

Looks like you're getting good at photoshop. ;)

And why are my cousins growing so fast?

Wanderlust said...

@ Trevor, that's actually an app on my EVO. Required no mad skilz on my part. And we so need to get you and the kids together. Soon! xoxo

Wanderlust said...

@ Ed, hey there, nice to see you coming up for air. Hope the new job is treating you well. Maybe when you're done with your assignment you should take a trip to Nowhere!

Jodie at Mummy Mayhem said...

Looks a fab old time you had there! My boys love trains. In fact, what kids don't? ;) xx

Wanderlust said...

@ Jodie - yes, I think trains are kid heaven! I kind of like them too.

Ro said...

OMG
Can your hubby take me along to the 1920s diesal train next time?
Puuuull-eeeze???
I promise to clean my room, and wash the dishes for a whole week.
Really. :P

Badger said...

Bad! One should never eat inferior chocolate.

Wanderlust said...

@ Ro - you should come with me!

@ Badger - desperate times call for desperate measures.
